BALKUMARI, LALITPUR, 3rd November, 2025 – The Department of Development Studies, KUSOA in collaboration with Learning, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (LIKE) Lab, Kathmandu University School of Arts and the CVEC Project successfully launched its Development Studies: Workshop Series with the first session focusing on ‘Knowledge Mobilization’. This session aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of knowledge mobilization concepts, stakeholder engagement, and effective communication strategies in developmental projects.
Key highlights from the session included:
- Understanding the meaning, purpose, and relevance of knowledge mobilization in development and research-based initiatives.
- Knowledge Mobilization Plan and its role in reaching target audiences meaningfully.
- Stakeholder mapping and prioritization, guiding participants on whom to engage, when, and how deeply.
- Aligning methods and approaches with stakeholders needs to enhance communication and impact.
- Exploration of various knowledge mobilization strategies, including participatory, digital, community-based, and policy-influencing methods.
- Reflections on integrating project outcomes into windows of opportunity to strengthen influence, sustainability, and community ownership.
The interactive session provided a practical foundation for students to strategically plan and implement knowledge mobilization in their respective projects.
