In a bid to empower children and promote their holistic development, a comprehensive pamphlet distribution program was initiated in rural public schools across 8 schools of Yamunamai Rural Municipality and 17 schools of Durgabhagwati Rural Municipality. The initiative reached around 4,000 rural students and aimed to equip them with the essential capabilities, fostering their personal growth and achieving lives that they value.
From 18th June to 28th June 2023, dedicated team members embarked on an endeavor to distribute informative pamphlets outlining a comprehensive list of capabilities for children in rural public schools. The initiative aimed to bridge the gap in access to resources and opportunities faced by these children.
In each school, teachers were requested to incorporate the list of capabilities in their practical and theoretical teaching-learning process of the classroom. The list of capabilities were described or endorsed by the Education Officer of the rural municipality in Durgabhagwati.
The pamphlet distribution program is a part of the “Effectiveness and Scalability of Programs for Children Who Are Out of School and at Risk of Dropping Out in Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal” which is supported by the Global Partnership for Education Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (GPE KIX), International Development Research Centre (IDRC), and Kathmandu University School of Arts (KUSOA).
