
BHOJPUR, NEPAL, FEBRUARY 9th 2025 – A capacity-building training was successfully conducted in Bhojpur, to equip teachers (GESI Focals) with a comprehensive understanding of the GESI (Gender Equality and Social Inclusion) indicators questionnaire. The training aimed to familiarize educators with the 16 key indicators related to well-being and agency, ensuring effective implementation in schools.
The training set the stage for an engaging and informative series of sessions, providing an in-depth explanation of the 16 domains of well-being and their relevance to children’s development. The teachers were guided on the structure and objectives of the questionnaire, emphasizing its role in assessing students’ well-being freedom, well-being achievement, agency freedom, and agency achievement. A dynamic group activity was conducted to challenge common myths and misconceptions about GESI in schools. Teachers actively participated in discussions, analyzing and distinguishing facts from prevailing myths. The training fostered a deeper awareness of gender and social inclusion issues within educational settings.
The workshop concluded with an open discussion, allowing teachers to seek further clarifications. The workshop was well-received, with participants expressing appreciation for the opportunity to enhance their understanding of GESI-related capabilities. Organizers emphasized that such capacity-building initiatives play a crucial role in fostering inclusive and equitable education in Nepal.
