The Knowledge Exchange Event on “Educational Programs, Interventions, and Practices of NGOs Working in Rautahat District” was held on May 19, 2023, at Hotel Tarai Inn, Chapur, Rautahat. There were 16 people in total, 8 of whom were female and 8 of whom were male.
The event achieved its goal of discussing educational research, innovative programs, interventions, experiences, and practices that have been or are being implemented in the Rautahat district to strengthen the public education system. Various organizations were present at the event, including Aasman Nepal, Oxfam in Nepal, SODCC Parsa, Chhori, Blue Diamond Society – Rautahat, WVI Nepal, and RDC, where they shared their programs, research, practices, and experiences from their work in the community. The floor was opened for questions and answers following the presentation, which emphasized on-the-ground learning and the location of educational research.
The event was organized by the Learning, Innovation, and Knowledge Exchange (LIKE) Lab. The final remarks for the event were provided by Dr. Binayak Krishna Thapa, Principal Investigator of the “Effectiveness and Scalability of Programs for Children Who Are Out of School and at Risk of Dropping Out in Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal”, where he emphasized the need to hold similar events in the future, in collaboration with organizations working in Rautahat District, to continue to support and form networks.
