LALITPUR, NEPAL, January 28, 2025 – The Learning, Innovation, and Knowledge Exchange (LIKE) Lab at Kathmandu University School of Arts hosted a Knowledge Exchange Program: Strengthening GESI Among Children, bringing together practitioners from diverse civil society organizations working in education and children’s wellbeing. The program aimed to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and synergy among institutions committed to advancing gender equality and social inclusion (GESI) in children’s education and development.
The gathering provided a platform to align institutional goals, exchange best practices, and explore opportunities for future collaboration. A roundtable discussion allowed representatives to showcase their work, highlighting key initiatives in education and child welfare while identifying shared challenges and innovative solutions.
To sustain and expand the knowledge exchange initiative, participants proposed several key actions, including organizing quarterly or bi-monthly knowledge-sharing sessions, conducting themed discussions on critical education and child welfare issues, and presenting research findings and best practices to inform policy and program development. They also stressed the importance of facilitating problem-solving sessions for collaborative action and engaging government representatives and policymakers in discussions to drive systemic change.
The event successfully fostered a dynamic exchange of ideas and strategies, reinforcing the need for ongoing, structured collaboration among stakeholders. Participants emphasized that sustained engagement is essential to driving meaningful, long-term impact in education and children’s wellbeing in Nepal.
