The Knowledge Exchange Event on “Educational Research and its Contribution to Strengthening the Public Education System” was held on 30th April 2023 at Indreni, New Baneshwor. There were altogether 23 participants, among which 9 were female and 14 were male.
The event was a success in meeting its desired objective to discuss the educational research, innovative programs, interventions, experiences, and practices that have had or are being implemented for strengthening the public education system. At the Event, Prof Dr. Bal Chandra Luitel talked about the “State of the Art in Educational Research” in which he shared answers to various problems like “Why hasn’t classroom culture changed despite the policy documents emphasizing active learning?” He also elaborated on how trust is a major factor for Public Schools to be organized as a
productive and responsive system. Prof. Luitel emphasized that it is imperative for us at this point to reimagine education.
Similarly, the other thematic areas of discussion were Inclusive Education and Disability, Education and leadership, Sustainability in Education, and Arts and Education. The insights on the aforementioned thematic areas and the important research findings that have been carried out under these themes were highlighted by Dr. Niraj Poudyal, Dr. Dhanapati Subedi, Dr. Suresh Gautam, and Mr. Sujan Chitrakar and Mr. Sagar Manadhar
respectively. With the presentation of each theme, the floor was opened for the question and answer session, where on-ground learning and where educational research is situated were emphasized.
The final remarks for the event were provided by Dr. Megh Raj Dangal, Associate Dean of Kathmandu University School of Arts, where he emphasized the establishment of the incubation center to mobilize the knowledge generated in the course of educational research.
